Ingredients
Rice 3/4 kg
Mutton 1 kg
Chilli powder 2 tsp

Yellow colour 1/4 tsp
Papaya 1 tbsp
yogurt 1 cup
Oil 1 cup
SaltClick to find more about Salt 1 tsp
Blended TomatoClick to find more about Tomato 3-4
Corriander leaves 1/2 bunch chopped
OnionClick to find more about Onion Brown 1 cup
AlooClick to find more about Aloo Bukhara 8-10
Potatoes 3 4 fried
Whole mixed Spices
Egg boiled 2 3
Black ZeeraClick to find more about Zeera 1 tsp
ZeeraClick to find more about Zeera 1 tsp
Choti Ilachi 3 4
All spices 1 tsp

Preparation
Marinate meat with papaya, gingerClick to find more about ginger / garlicClick to find more about garlic and saltClick to find more about salt for an hour.
Heat oil and fry onionClick to find more about onion crisp and remove.
In the same oil fry whole spices add haldiClick to find more about haldi, chilli powder, zeeraClick to find more about zeera and the marinated meat.
Mix tomatoes and cook till thick gravy remains and meat done.
Boil rice till half done with saltClick to find more about salt to taste.
In a pan, spread meat mixture, pour on this yogurt, place potatoes, alooClick to find more about aloo Bukhara, spread rice over this, sprinkle yellow colour, spread boiled eggs all spices, coriander leavesClick to find more about coriander leaves, spread with remaining rice and put on dam.
Do not spoil the layers.
Dish out biryani with a flat spoon.
Serve hot with raita and mixed vegetable salad.

there is no mention of the fried onions later in the recipe. do we put it in the layers or mix it with the meat?
