Maash(urad) Daal cooked in spices to get an authentic flavor.


Ingredients
Maash daal 1 cup.
OnionClick to find more about Onion 1 small.
Red Chili round 2-3.
SaltClick to find more about Salt 1 tsp or according to taste.
Ground Red chili 1 tsp.
Green chili 2-3 for garnishing.
GarlicClick to find more about Garlic 1tsp.
GingerClick to find more about Ginger 1tsp.
Cooking Oil 1/2 cup


Preparation
Brown the onionClick to find more about onion, then add 1 cup of water and let cook over medium heat. Keep stirring and crush onionClick to find more about onion as you stir.
Now add the garlicClick to find more about garlic and gingerClick to find more about ginger keep stirring, and then add all the dry ingredients.

Add the daal and stir well, stir till you see oil seperate from the daal.
Add one cup of water, bring the water to boil and then reduce the flame to low and cover saucepan with a lid.
Cook for about 10-15 minutes or when the daal is cooked.
Garnish with green chilis.
