Okra is one of the common vegetables used in pakistani cuisine. In this dish Okra is cooked with falvored masalas and potatoes.

Ingredients
1 lb. okraClick to find more about okra, sliced lengthwise or chopped into small pieces.
2 onions, pureed
2 tsp. gingerClick to find more about ginger paste
2 tsp. garlicClick to find more about garlic paste
1 tsp. turmericClick to find more about turmeric
1 tsp. chilli powder
1 tsp. cumin powder
1 tsp. coriander powder
1 potatoClick to find more about potato, cubed
1 tsp. saltClick to find more about salt or to taste
1 large tomatoClick to find more about tomato, pureed
2 tbsp. oil


Preparation
Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan (or skillet) and fry the onions, gingerClick to find more about ginger and garlicClick to find more about garlic, together with cumin and coriander powders and tomatoClick to find more about tomato for five minutes on medium low heat.
Add potatoClick to find more about potato, okraClick to find more about okra, turmericClick to find more about turmeric, chilli powder, saltClick to find more about salt and cook on medium low heat for half an hour or until vegetables are cooked.
Turn of the heat when it leaves oil and serve hot with chapatis.
