A fabulously flavorful homemade spaghetti sauce with tomatoes, onions, garlic, basil and oregano.


Ingredients
1 (28 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 pound ground beef
2 onions, chopped
2 green bell peppersClick to find more about bell peppers, chopped
5 cloves garlicClick to find more about garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon dried basilClick to find more about basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
saltClick to find more about salt and pepper to taste

NOTE:
Stewed: Cooked by simmering or slow boiling, as food.


Preparation
Blend the stewed tomatoes and crushed tomatoes in a blender.
In a stock pot or large kettle, brown the ground beef with the onions, peppers, garlicClick to find more about garlic.
Pour in tomatoes, and reduce heat.
Add sugar, basilClick to find more about basil and oregano, and simmer about 40 minutes.
Season with saltClick to find more about salt and pepper before serving.
